Mitsubishi Corporation Life Sciences Group’s Direction and Initiatives

For contributing to well-being and to a sustainable global environment through our business activities, our fundamental approach is to undertake initiatives focused on our production facilities.
To do our part to achieve the Paris Agreement and Japan’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050, we will advance energy-saving measures and fuel conversion (such as gasification) tailored to our operations. In addition, we will promote initiatives with a view to introducing renewable energy and adopting next-generation technologies.

Actions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are monitored as a key theme of the company-wide Sustainability Committee. We are driving emissions reduction projects across the Group and pursuing steady progress through daily energy-saving activities, combined with research and validation of advanced technologies.

Our Group company, KOHJIN Life Sciences Co., Ltd., has already introduced the “high-efficiency gas turbine combined cycle that makes effective use of natural gas and existing steam turbines”(*2) at its Saiki Plant. This has resulted in both CO2 reduction and enhanced resilience.
